Siberian larch propertiesis are much better than most of other soft wood or pressure treated pine. Siberian larch is one of hardest soft wood. Siberian larch is relatively stable, but as with other species occurs longitudinal cracks on the surface and cracks at the ends of boards, depending on outdoor weather conditions and humidity. Avoid contact with metal or wood dust, metal on wood that produces blue-black stains, use only stainless steel fasteners.

The most beneficial Larch feature is its natural resistance, which results from its extremely high resin content and high density. Siberian larch is the most haviest soft wood. Our Siberian larch products comes from old growth wood in usually very dense grain.

One of the best conifers.
Significantly lower water absorption compared with other soft woods.
High durability and very resistant to rot and fungus. High mechanical resistance and very high compressive strength. Excellent wear resistance.
Slow-growing wood.
Minimum od sapwood.
With high density, and therefore is not highly flammable.
A nice appearance with golden hues, with shades of yellow and orange.
If the timber is exposed to weather will occur over time to change the color to silver-gray.

High density:
Siberian larch stands high density with an average weight of 600 kg/m3.

The density of Siberian larch is caused by local climatic conditions, where the wood grows. Siberia is known for its long and harsh winters and short hot summers and growing seasons are very short. Due to the short growing season, the Siberian larch wood on average 40% increment in the late summer. Late wood are denser and mechanically stronger than the spring wood increment of wood.

Environment and Sustainable Development:
Siberian larch is one of the few long-growing species that are harvested from sustainable forest management. Larch wood is 38% in Russian boreal (cold northern) forests. That in itself is considerably larger area than the entire Amazon rainforest, which covers an area of ??800 million acres. Wood which is currently mined in Russia is only 20% of new growth and afforestation. For each extracted tree, with five new reforestments on the same place.

Larch is a natural material, its impact on energy consumption, greenhouse gas emissions and pollution are much smaller than the recently popular composite materials.

Big heartwood content:
In scientific studies on the properties of Siberian larch indicates that larch wood is composed of 80-90% heartwood. The core is denser and more durable than the surrounding sapwood.

Hardness of wood (often called density) is defined as "resistance to dents." Minor dents means less water and organisms such as fungi, which can penetrate into the wood. Siberian larch is a bit softer than the hardness of oak wood. Not only that the harder the wood have a positive impact on life, but also help maintain a nice appearance.

High resin content:
Siberian larch is very resistant to decay because it contains high tannin content, which allows its use without chemical treatment, where other species leads to rot.

The resins and preservatives acts as a natural antiseptic that is very repulsive to insects. Although such chemical composition of wood may significantly affect its natural resistance. The resins and extracts in larch are credited for creating the most highly resistant to rot and decay. The primary extractive in Siberian Larch is Arabinoglactan, which is toxic to wood-decaying fungi.
