Description

The substructure beam is the most important element of the terrace. Therefore, strength and durability must be taken into account in this part of the structure. The AL-Double substructure beam profile creates a durable, long-lasting, stable, and extremely load-bearing base structure.

High structural stability and easy installation

AL-Double is a load-bearing aluminum element designed for easy and reliable installation using AL-Bracket clips and AL-Start starter clips.

Load capacity and spacing

Supporting profiles should not be placed directly on the substrate. Instead, they should be supported at the recommended intervals using rubber pads, adjustable pedestals, or other elements that ensure proper ventilation and free drainage of water beneath the profiles.

To prevent excessive deflection of aluminum profiles, it is recommended in the residential sector not to exceed a spacing of 50 cm between pedestals. The table below shows examples of the deflection of 40 × 40 mm aluminum profiles under a load of 300 kg/m², depending on different spacings of aluminum profiles and supporting pedestals.

For the installation of Fiberon composite decking with a thickness of 24 mm, the recommended spacing of AL-Double 40 × 40 mm aluminum profiles is 40 cm for residential applications with standard loads.
In the commercial sector, the spacing between supporting beams should not exceed 30 cm.

If you plan to place very heavy objects on the terrace (such as flower pots, hot tubs, etc.), it is necessary to create a separate supporting structure independent of the decking to prevent excessive deflection.

For installations in the industrial sector, it is also recommended to reduce the spacing of the substructure to at least 30 cm.

Boards connection

When connecting composite boards lengthwise, always place two 40 × 40 mm profiles next to each other.
Never connect two boards to a single aluminum profile.
